My weekends were burnt for Chin Khee Shin Cup. I was the helper and referee.
More than than 6 months since I last been referee, and with insufficient in tkd training I was not confident in being referee at all.
Matches on Sat was okie, because all kids and the eldest would only be 17 so not many tall people. Refereeing, was alright. Not too hard. But sunday was a nightmare, luckly it was a short one. When I was the center referee I keeping looking at who are the next fighters, if they are experience or tall then I would ask for a change. Until once, I referee for a friend who is very tall, after that my confidence for refereeing matches were gain.
I think for now, other than heavy weight, I dare to referee for any matches.
Other than experience for being referee I get to see many people. The kids are so cute, some are so small yet they are potential fighters, I even have a boy whom I warned him that no pushing is allowed in his 2nd round. In the thrid round before the match starts (I will remind kids what their previous mistake were because I think the kids are not that experience to know all the fouls) "Cannot kick head hor","Cannot kick leg okie", then the boy asked "No, pushing??". Wa the small boy is so cute when he asked that.
As for the adults, can see that some fighters are very zai, some qutie chui de...
Also get to see some old tkd ppl whom I know previously or met in NPTkd, I am glad to see them again. Even though many times I am bullied but I am glad to see them.
As always watching these matches makes me want to train again and take part in tournament, but I never put them in real action so far... ...
p/s: Really cannot believe in this civilised century, there are people who would take stranger's belonging to use w/o asking. Do you know the meaning of personalisaed or ownership of belongings? If a kid would know they are not allow to do it, then why wouldn't an adult know what not to do? Yes, I am making a moutain out of a molehole.
